Review:
Set during the Great Depression when circus was the top entertainment for people falling on hard times, a young veterinary school student, Jacob (Robert Pattinson), winds up joining a traveling circus not by choice and is put in charge of the animals’ health by their trainer, the mysterious August (Christoph Waltz). He also meets August’s beautiful wife Marlena (Reese Witherspoon) who is the show’s top act, a talented equestrian. But Jacob and Marlena’s common interest in a very ornery elephant that will not respond to any sort of training named Rosie attracts the two together until they fall in love, but must decide whether their love is worth fighting for, especially since her husband is a very dangerous man. Review:
Madea (Tyler Perry), as you know from the other movies, is a very shall we say, intense person who creates a whole lot of trouble in what should be normal activities of her family and friends, even though she means well. In this one, her older niece Shirley (Loretta Devine) is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and she wants nothing more than to get her family together to tell them the sad news. But her adult children are too busy with their own issues to even notice that she’s withering away with the chemotherapy or even to stay there long enough for them to find out the truth. Her daughters Tammy (Natalia Desselle Reid) and Kimberly (Shannon Kane) have domestic issues, while their brother Byron (Shad “Bow Wow” Moss) is pushed into returning to drug dealing after getting out of prison. Madea, however, is there for Shirley, along with Aunt Bam (Cassi Davis) if that’s a good thing and will get the family back on track no matter what she has to do, and she’s willing to do quite a bit. Review:
On Earth Day, Disneynature presents African Cats, the real life documentary that is actually three separate stories in one. The first follows a little lion cub that wants to be like his mother. But when his mother is injured, Mara must learn to go it on his own. Then Layla, who is a cheetah mom with five young ones must fight to keep her cubs safe, while going out and hunting for food, leaving them behind, possibly in great danger. And Fang, in a story reminiscent of The Lion King, is the leader of his pride, but when he’s injured in a fight, his challengers for the position make their move. Fang must prove to the others that he still has what it takes to be the king. Read more…

Review:
In the same spirit, pardon the pun, of Poltergeist and Amityville, comes the story of a family of five who moves into their new residence, eager to start their new life, but the house isn’t all that welcoming towards one particular member of their family. Their eldest son Dalton is being stalked by the residence and the old spirit that lives there. At first, it’s just little things like books falling off shelves and strange noises, but when Dalton goes up to the attic to investigate, he slips off a broken ladder and falls. But starts screaming at something he sees. But after calming him down and tucking him in, his parents Josh and Renai (Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne) believe he is fine. But the next day, they find him comatose in a state that doctors can’t explain, even after spending three months in the hospital. Believing that home would be a much better place for him, they bring him back to the house, but the spirit has just begun to use him for it’s own agenda. Even moving doesn’t free them from the terror that has become their boy. Read more…
