They have warred for centuries and during the last big war, the vampires were thought to have been killed off. But people lived in huge walled cities run by the Church, who got control of the population in order to “protect” it’s citizens. When a warrior priest (Paul Bettany) who has been living a normal a life as possible under the radar has a vision that the vampires are returning, he is told by the head of the Church (Christopher Plummer) that he must never say what he has seen and threatens to take away his life if he were to reveal the secret. In Norse Mythology, there is a god of thunder who uses his hammer to stomp out his enemies. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is his name and he is a powerful immortal whose arrogance gets him into trouble and when his actions start a war among the ancients, he is cast out of Asgard to the modern day mortal realm, where Odin (Anthony Hopkins) hopes he will learn humility. While there, he meets Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) who finds him battered from his fall to Earth. Her team, along with Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) and their mentor Dr. Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard) want to find the gateway for which he came from as a matter of science. In Thor’s absence on Earth, however, there is a power struggle in Asgard when Odin falls into a deep sleep and only Thor can bring peace back to the kingdom. But will his brother Loki give up the reigns so easily? With the help of his new friends, the Earth and the mythological kingdom may have a chance. Read more…
